How to log a habit for yesterday
-
Open the calendar for that habit
Choose the habit you actually completed. Each habit has its own history: logging reading does not change your water or workout records.
-
Choose the past date
Navigate to the relevant month and tap the day. Today has a separate highlight; future dates are disabled for logging.
-
Record what happened
Choose complete, unfinished or a rest day. To clear an incorrect entry, tap the selected status again.
-
Keep going with your next small step
The corrected entry stays in your history. You do not need to recreate the habit or add a duplicate to restore yesterday’s record.
Schedules and the moon do different jobs
A schedule defines a recurring rhythm: reading every day, for example, or stretching on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. For a regular day off, remove that weekday from the schedule.
The moon is the status of one particular date. Use it when you choose to rest today or want to record a past rest day. A habit marked with the moon today has a muted card, making it easier to distinguish from active tasks.
A rest day does not count as a completion or increase a streak. It is not treated as a missed completion when calculating the streak; an unfinished day or an unmarked scheduled day can break the streak.
Can I log a day outside my schedule?
Yes, as long as it is today or a past date. If reading is scheduled for weekdays but you read on Saturday, open Saturday in the calendar and log the result. You do not need to change the whole schedule for a single entry.
Future dates cannot be logged in advance. The schedule plans your routine; the calendar records what has already happened.
The habit calendar and your year-long activity map
Use the calendar to work with individual dates. The year-long activity map gives you a broader view of how small entries add up over time. Streaks and achievements provide additional ways to notice that progress.
You can start without signing up and track up to three habits for free. Unlimited habits, additional views and some appearance options require Pro; current terms are shown in the app.
